What Do Women Want?
I was discussing this article with friends today. A lot of what these female researchers are discovering is stuff that guys kind of know already. Namely, women have conflicting desires. They want you to be a little dangerous, unpredictable and full of desire but also fiercely loyal and dependable. Anyone who has seen, say, “Swingers” should understand this.
To nerd out for a moment, you can read Homer’s Odessey as an exploration of different kinds of female desire. The various women, from the Sirens, to Circe to Penelope are instructive about different aspects about how women desire.
Don Draper puts it more crudely. “What do women want? Any excuse to get closer,” Draper says. That’s a crude way of saying that there are many paths to a woman’s heart…and other parts of her anatomy. The trick is learning how to take all those paths at all the right times.
What do men want? We want a woman who is comfortable with the complexities of her own desires. And, of course, we want her to be beautiful.
